This page contains information on Silver Street guitar restorations carried out by owners.

The Pepto-Bismol TAXI

The TAXI below (T-043156) was made by Silver Street for Tommy Shaw of Styx. It was equipped with an optional Dimarzio X2N pickup and was finished, at Tommy’s request, in Pepto-Bismol pink. The rear cavity cover engraving relates to the song “Don’t Let it End” from the thematic 1983 Styx album “Kilroy was Here”. Jonathan Chance was the character played by Tommy Shaw.

This one-of-a-kind TAXI was seriously damaged by a flood in the former owner’s basement. It has now been completely restored and refinished in Pepto-Bismol pink. The photos below show “Before” and “After” views and a full-frontal “After” photo. Special thanks to Gilles at Rainbow Music Shop and Ian at Weston Instruments.

An Interesting Case, Sherlock!

The Silver Street hard-shell case shown below, originally a Cobra model case, had lost its body-area padding and its usefulness. Silver Street owner John in New Jersey has rejuvenated and repurposed this case to protect his Spitfire model. John’s rebuild was done to a high standard and looks indistinguishable from an original Spitfire case. Check out the “Before” and “After” photos below.  Well done, John!
